How can I add a hits counter to WSS 3.0 (Sharepoint)

How can I add a hits counter to WSS 3.0 (Sharepoint)

You will need some server-side coding to do that. Someone with Developer rights to your SP environment and can develop in ASP .NET can help you, or you can use one of the free online services.

-- Do a search for "HTML hit counter"

-- sign up for one of the services

-- Open the page you want counted in SharePoint Designer

-- Add the HTML/Javascript code to the page you want

How many SQL CALs are required to install WSS 3.0

How many SQL CALs are required to install WSS 3.0

I'm getting ready to install WSS 3.0 but can't for the life of me figure out how many CALs I need for SQL 2005? Can I just get 1 since this is used only internally? What if I want to allow a set number of external users to access it; do I need more CALs then? If anyone could answer this or provide a link that would be helpful:)

Can multiple users use the same excel spreadsheet at the same time in Sharepoint

Can multiple users use the same excel spreadsheet at the same time in Sharepoint

I am trying to set up a excel worksheet that can be used by multiple users. Is it possible to set up an excel worksheet (that is not a shared workbook, just a shared workspace) that multiple people can edit at the same time on a sharepoint server? (I can't use a shared workbook because I need to use VBA code.)

When multiple people try to use the same workspace right now, only the first person can write back. How do I fix it so that multiple people can write at the same time?

Note: Due to work restrictions, we have completely removed the messenger service from all of our computers.

Can multiple users make changes to an excel doc uploaded to a SharePoint document workspace at the same time

Can multiple users make changes to an excel doc uploaded to a SharePoint document workspace at the same time

Hi, I have a question regarding Sharepoint document workspaces. I’ve uploaded several excel 2003 workbook files to a document workspace that could be worked on (at the same time) by all the employees within our department. However, I’ve run into a number of roadblocks – basically the system doesn’t allow you and another user to have the file open at the same time and save your and the other users’ changes at the same time. It’s funny you can share the workbook in the way I want on a network drive, however, once on SharePoint it can be only be changed one user at a time. I’ve read online that this is pretty much one of the limitations. A user may only sign out a document, work on it, save changes and than Sign it back in – enabling another user to sign it out for his/her edits. Our company is currently using SharePoint 3.0 / excel 2003 – would it be at all helpful upgrading to SharePoint 2007 or using excel 2007 – is this feature available in the later versions?
